On Tonika's Visceral Adventures, a commenter just dubbed him Math Crawford, which I thought was apt and a great mnemonic device for that single t! I'm halfway in and SO impressed that you've kept Math to a single topic! Our convos generally prove his point about infinity for the number of times you can segue and then segue from a segue.
Seriously, I love hearing Mathew geek out on math. We've talked about base-12, which he has a fancy name for (duodecimal?). I never thought I'd love numbers but playing with them in my head has become one of my favorite things. I'm being honest here, I can't do it when I'm trying to get to sleep because it's too exciting.
And I was to words the way Mathew was to math, sneaking into the adult section of the library (which I could walk to safely from a young age) and reading mythology then Updike, Oscar Wilde and all of Shakespeare by eighth grade. I was insufferable!
I love Mathew's title, The Art of Solving Problems, and looking at it as pattern recognition--something we share in this conspiracy space, I think. Tonika had written, "naming the problem specifically is half the solution," which I've worded as 'If you get the question right, the answer is self-evident.' That seems to go with how Mathew looks at math.
And last, glad he didn't let you get away with that comment on the Taliban. One more day, I more psyop down! Delighted to find two of my favorite people in conversation!
I genuinely loved this, listened yesterday after an overnight long haul flight and the during the subsequent 6 hour solo drive to collect my dog. I was so energised by this conversation it helped the journey evaporate, makes me believe in relativity and time travel!

Great interview! I didn't know that angle on the British Raj and Hinduism.
Ohh.. well fookin done! Matthew is one of the brightest most insightful people on substack. Will be listening to this later.
You both feel like brothers to me, and I look forward to experiencing the cosmic convergence of Mathew’s big brain with Ahmad’s big heart 🧠💓
