October 16th, 2024 – Today, I went to the Royal Courts of Justice to support my friend, Dr Sarah Myhill, a true medical hero. Sarah is standing up to the General Medical Council (GMC), an organisation that has hounded her relentlessly.
The GMC, through their so-called “independent” (I’ll let you decide if that’s true) Medical Practitioner Tribunal Service (MPTS), finally suspended Sarah. I say "finally" because they’ve tried to bring her down over 30 times—37, to be exact. Yes, you read that right: Sarah has defended herself against the GMC on more than 30 occasions.
Now, let’s think about this. Either Sarah is an extremely dangerous doctor, and the GMC is just completely inept at dealing with her, or—and I think this is more likely—the GMC is punishing her because she dares to deviate from the script, actually treating her patients as a good doctor should. You decide.
In December 2022, they launched yet another hearing, which concluded in January 2023. This time, they "got" her on misconduct charges and suspended her. Sarah didn’t attend or have representation at that hearing—likely because, after years of harassment, she’d had enough of the GMC and did not feel that she would have a fair hearing.
So, what was she charged with? The tribunal said Sarah failed to provide adequate care for two patients and promoted unapproved treatments online during the COVID pandemic. You can read the specifics here.
The key findings:
- Between 2015 and 2018, Sarah was found to have not provided adequate care to Patient A. However, the tribunal determined this did not impact her fitness to practice medicine.
- In 2020, Sarah failed to diagnose a hip fracture in Patient B properly and gave inappropriate medications.
- She endorsed unproven treatments for COVID-19 without proper warnings, allegedly putting patients at risk.
The tribunal suspended Sarah for nine months, supposedly giving her time to reflect. Their reasoning? To maintain public confidence in the medical profession.
But let’s get real—what really led to her suspension were the “Internet Allegations.” Sarah was found guilty of promoting treatments like Vitamin C, Iodine, Vitamin D, and Ivermectin for viral and bacterial infections, including COVID-19. And remember, the “vaccines” could not have any viable and successful alternative treatment. So, anyone recommending an alternative had to be quashed.
The tribunal claimed she failed to make it clear that these treatments weren’t universally safe, nor licensed as antiviral agents. And yes we are talking about Vitamin C and D, and Ivermectin!
They concluded her recommendations put patient safety at risk, didn’t follow NICE guidelines, and lacked sufficient evidence of benefits. Additionally, they said her actions undermined public health because they weren’t backed by any official UK medical body or the NHS.
Now, here’s the kicker: the same medical bodies that rushed an experimental, untested genetic technology on the public (based on flawed studies) are perfectly fine with doctors pushing that onto millions with no informed consent. And guess what? These doctors are still free to practice, no investigations, no suspensions. many of them who pushed these jabs on the TV, radio and social media. But Sarah Myhill gets suspended for daring to recommend tried-and-tested vitamins and medications.
If that’s not a sign of the clown world we live in, I don’t know what is.
Sarah rejected the outcome of the January 2023 tribunal but has come back to fight the GMC in the High Court, as the GMC refuses to let her walk away. After her initial nine-month suspension, they reviewed her case again in November 2023, ruling once more that "Dr. Myhill’s fitness to practise is impaired by reason of misconduct." On this occasion, Sarah requested to call three witnesses, but this was denied.
The January 2023 Tribunal imposed the nine-month suspension to "mark the seriousness of her misconduct" and to uphold public confidence in the medical profession. They claimed the suspension would give Sarah time to reflect, develop insight, and take steps to remediate her actions.
They also outlined that, for any future review of her case, Sarah would need to provide:
Evidence of insight
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to show her knowledge is up to date
Targeted training addressing her misconduct
A reflective statement
Satisfactory appraisals since 2020
A report from her Responsible Officer confirming her maintained competence.
However, Sarah has argued that since 2020, she’s been practicing as a naturopath and no longer wishes to remain registered with the GMC. She even requested voluntary erasure from the register, but the GMC refused. Instead, they continue to suspend her, pushing towards her eventual "striking off" unless she jumps through a series of costly and humiliating hoops. These include admitting guilt, paying back all registration fees since 2020, completing CPD courses, writing a reflective statement, and more.
At her 9 month review the GMC suspended Sarah again for another year.
Sarah just wants out, but the GMC won’t let her leave. She’s trapped in a legal loop, stuck in a system designed to punish dissenting doctors. If and when the GMC finally strikes her off, the process will cause significant reputational harm, with her name splashed across the media in a final, public disgrace.
This entire ordeal is vindictive and cruel, a clear warning to other doctors about the consequences of speaking out or daring to question the system.
Sarah believes the original misconduct finding was wrong and that she's innocent. Yet every time she faces a review, she's stuck—unable to present fresh evidence or challenge the initial decision. True justice would allow her to revisit that decision, provide new evidence, and finally break free from this legal nightmare.
Sarah needs to leave the GMC with her record intact. Being struck off isn’t just a professional penalty—it’s a public humiliation meant to strip you of credibility. For someone like Sarah, who is committed to continuing her work as a campaigner and activist for medical justice, this would be devastating. No media outlet will entertain the views of a "struck off" doctor, which is exactly why it's so important she wins this case.
The world needs more doctors like Sarah Myhill. She’s an inspiration and a true warrior for medical justice. In a fair world, she’d be celebrated and rewarded for her unwavering dedication and ethical approach to patient care.
