About this Guest -

Michael Yon is an American war correspondent, author, and photographer known for his fearless frontline reporting and independent analysis of global conflict, migration, and geopolitics. A former U.S. Army Green Beret, he has spent decades documenting wars, border crises, and humanitarian flashpoints around the world.

His work has taken him from Iraq and Afghanistan to the jungles of the Darien Gap, offering rare, firsthand insight into the forces reshaping nations and societies. Unaffiliated with corporate media, Michael’s reporting combines on-the-ground experience with historical depth and moral clarity.

About this Episode -

I’ve heard of Michael Yon for quite a while now and had listened to one or two podcasts he’d been on. I knew he would make a great guest, but, wow, I was really quite blown away by this conversation.

It took me a while to get Michael on. I’m sure he’s inundated with correspondence. My initial request on X went unanswered when I first reached out back in June 2024. I tried again in November that year, and again… nothing. Then, this September, I sent him a lighthearted message saying, “You never did get back to me,” and suddenly we reconnected. We ended up having a wonderful chat off air, which naturally led to this podcast.

I’m sharing this story because for anyone thinking about starting a podcast or reaching out to someone they admire, persevere. People aren’t ignoring you, everyone’s just busy and overwhelmed with messages, emails, and DMs. Sometimes you simply need to keep at it. I’m so glad I did, because not only did I thoroughly enjoy this conversation, but I’ve also come to think of Michael as a friend. He’s an incredibly interesting man, fiercely independent, and not just a war correspondent but a truth teller, one of the most insightful observers of global conflict and migration alive today.

In this chat we covered a huge amount of ground, beginning with the Darien Gap, tht treacherous stretch of jungle between Colombia and Panama, the isthmus that connects North and South America. It has now become one of the busiest migration routes on Earth. Michael has spent months, over several years, on the ground there documenting the flow of humanity. And when I say humanity, it’s not just South Americans from Haiti, Cuba, and Venezuela, but also migrants from Africa, Asia, and even China. What he reveals is deeply unsettling.

We talk about how the Darien Gap is far more than a humanitarian crisis. It is part of a much larger geopolitical game, one that links global migration, trade routes, and demographic warfare. Michael draws fascinating parallels between the modern migration crisis and the Scottish Darien Scheme of the seventeenth century, that doomed colonial project which, through corruption and bad luck, ultimately forced Scotland into the Act of Union with England in 1702. As we discussed, history always repeats itself.

We also touched on China’s growing influence in Southeast Asia, the role of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS) in managing global movement, and how international networks and NGOs are shaping population flows, not always for the better.

The conversation then moved to the information war, the changing nature of masculinity, and how belief systems and cultural firmware are being used to manipulate entire nations. We discussed Zionism, globalism, and how power structures often use migration, and the chaos it creates, as tools of control.

Michael also spoke powerfully about demographic warfare and cultural erasure, explaining how societies can be reshaped over generations without a single shot being fired. It’s an extraordinary mix of history, geopolitics, psychology, and raw human experience, all seen through the eyes of someone who’s been in the field, documenting the collapse of borders and the rise of a new global order.

It’s not often I have a podcast go over three hours, but this one flew by. Honestly, it felt like we’d been talking for only a few minutes. I could have gone on much longer, as could Michael, but, alas, I had kids to pick up.

As sure as night follows day, Michael will be back. We’ve got a lot more to talk about. But this episode, this one, isn’t just about migration. It’s about power, control, and what happens when nations forget who they are.

Michael’s insight is both sobering and essential for anyone trying to make sense of the chaos we are now living through.

Much love, enjoy the podcast.
